Registration Update (Gino)

• Registration is live as of October 3rd!Deadline to pay 100$ commitment fee is November 6th.
• 14 Registrations to date:

  • 3, 14AAA’s
  • 2, 15AA’s

 

Team Selection (Greg and Dan)

• Teams were announced on Sept. 30th (feedback)
• 46 players at 12/13 year old tryouts, 40 players at 14/15 tryout
• Teams selected 12AAA (11 players), 13A (12 players), 13AA (12 players), 13AAA (11 players), 14/15A (16 players), 14AAA (12 players), 15AA (12 players).
• Discussion on what to do with large number of players on 14/15A team
• Discussion pending about 15AA, need to pursue the waiver
• Additional players – one player requested to play 14/15A, so could get one more.Could also recruit Sam Ruff for this team so numbers could get higher on 14/15A.

 

Coaches Selection (Greg)

• Will take place in month of October and November.Hoping to have all coaches secured by November 30th
• Note on website and will also put ad in Sun Sailor
• We have two nonparent coaches returning in 2017

 

Board Positions and Elections (Greg, Dan and Joel A)

• Please let me know by October 16th your intentions to stay on the board and what role you would like to fulfill.
• Elections will take place on Sunday, November 6th
• Must be registered member to vote and present to vote
• Positions needed President, Vice President, Treasurer, Director of Player Development, Uniforms Manager, Equipment Manager, Slugfest Director, Field Scheduling Coordinator, Umpire Coordinator, Website and Secretary, Registrar, Volunteer Coordinator, Fundraising and Sponsors, Tournament scheduler
• Bylaws passed and published to website
• Discussed the creation of a Baseball Development Committee to assist the SLP Traveling Board.

Financial Update (Mark)

• In the black!
• Need to file tax return.  Doing this with Little League

 

Field Scheduler

• We have 4 teams playing at DP and PF next year.Will this work?Do we need to look at adding Aquila or Dakota as another option?If so, I need to reach out to city

 

Slugfest

• Dates are May 20 – 22 (fields have been secured)
• Do we want to host Spring Invitational again?  There appears to be interest

 

Winter Workouts (Mark)

• Have we secured any gym/field house space for Jan –early April?

 

Equipment (Brian)

• We have 7 teams.What do we need to purchase?
• We do need a new L screen to be purchased for 2017 – Talk to BK about sharing an L screen with the SLP HS

 

Uniforms

• Look at costs and designs by end of year

 

Tournaments

• Begin signing up in late December/ early Jan
