SLP Traveling Board Meeting 1/8/17

Spirit Wear and Slugfest (Toby Boyum)

  • Toby presented ideas for hats number stitching, championship shirts for Slugfest, price and delivery of Spirit wear and how to sell slugfest T-shirts.
  • Toby will provide:
    • A bid to offer hats with player numbers embroidered
    • Slugfest Champions shirts (in lieu of trophies)
    • T-Shirts for Slugfest (pre-sale only)
    • Toby to come back with suggestions for Spirit wear

 

Financial Update (Mark)

Baseball Operations

  • Erik shared updated plan for tournaments and schedule
  • Gino shared that all teams have been rostered on the site.Tournaments have also been added to the calendar of each team page.In addition, Gino will be adding summary tournament information to each team page (tourney date and location)
  • Uniforms (Cara)… presented design of jersey, working on the communication plan to families.Decision made to collect uniform sizes on Jan 27th, Feb 3rd and 4th (Winter Workouts)
  • Coaches (Greg, Erik and Jeb)
    • 12AAA – Paul Shrewsbury
    • 13A – Joe Bollettiere
    • 13AA – Erik Kiihn
    • 13AAA - TBD
    • 14/15A – Martin Schlegel
    • 14AAA – Danny Bissonette
    • 15AA – Joe Meyers
    • Matt Farley – Hitting and Base Running
    • Dan Hower – Pitching
  • Umpires (Joel) – Joel provided an update on umpires for both Slugfest and our regular season
  • Field Scheduling (James) – Not present
  • Equipment (Brian)- Trying to get into the Carlson garage to access equipment needs (L-screens, etc).Brian research less expensive options for purchasing baseballs

 

Player Development (Jeb)

  • Winter Workouts going well.Attendance is light due to other in-season sports.The players that are able to make are getting lots of reps
  • Members of Baseball Development Committee include Jeb Myers, Greg Meyer, BK and Matt Moran

Volunteer Discussion (Kim and Julie)

  • Decision to go with 15 hours per player, 24 hours for families with 2 players
  • Hosting three tournaments (14AA Spring Invitational May 6 and 7th) (12AAA, 13A and 14AAA May 19th – 21st) (13AA, 13AAA, 14/15A and 15AA June 2nd – 4th)
  • A communication is planned to go out this week to parents

Slugfest plan for 2017 (Mike)

  • Update on Bids for MYAS, MSF (we have been granted bids for MBT)
  • Update on Team recruitment: Some levels are light.Will be calling teams in levels that are light
  • Start filling key roles for each age group (set up potential meeting with key people in February / early March)
  • Need to determine how many teams can we hold at each level… Bracket schedule from Matt Pittman
  • Tournament tool feature of NGIN (Gino)…. Decision made to utilize the NGIN Tourney Tool
