Proposed 10yo team - Parents presented the proposal of starting another 10yo team in the traveling league.  Discussion ensued.

  • Board Vote on additional 10yo team
    • Yes- 1
    • No- 6
  • Traveling Program will remain with 1 team per Little League age (10,11,12) for 2015.

11 Yo Traveling team - Needs one additional player on the 11yo team.

  • Rob Robello sent a note to all 10 yo team families asking if anyone wants to move up to the 11yo team.  No one was interested.
  • The Board considered how to fill the one spot on 11yo.  It was determined that we would take the next best rated player from the fall try-outs.
  • The Board also discussed and considered how to address the market demand for additional teams at 10yo teams (or any future age levels) at the Little League ages.  We will speak to Little League leaders and discuss additional teams for the 2016 season, but we committed to Little League that we would have only one team at the 10, 11 and 12 yo levels for 2015.

Coaching update

  • Talked to Tom Wilsey about being head coach for 13AA.  Working to finalize coaching staff for that team.

Uniforms

  • Rob Robello not present, but gave us information by e-mail, still working on design.  Committed to Educational outfitters as the vendor.  They are local, and served us well last year.  We spent $110 per player last year, that is a good price and would like to stay around there for this year.Need to get this finalized by end of February.

Winter Workouts

  • Going well.  Great, committed coaches.  Turnout has been ok- a lot of competing sports and activities.  Times and spaces done through March.
  • Greg now looking for turf time at the high school for after March.

Rec Baseball

  • Looks like we have enough to field a 13yo team, potentially 2.  James Kirkpatrick is willing to coach the 13yo team.  Not sure how many players we could have at the 14/15 rec level.
  • Board discussed price for Rec Baseball, decided on $200.
  • Andi will added Rec Baseball to online registration functionality and Gino will put information and registration for Rec Baseball on the website.  Jenny will send notes to former players at 13, 14 and 15 yo levels.

Field Scheduling for season

  • Erik Hokenson will schedule and give us open dates for 10s and 11s.  We will take those to MBT meeting, and give dates we take back to Erik.

Slugfest Tournament

  • We are about 70% full.
  • We have the state bids we asked for.
  • Gino updated website with info on
    • Fields
    • Hotels
    • Rules
    • FAQ's
  • Slugfest Concessions- Need to find a coordinator.  Basically involves ordering all the food and getting it to the various fields.  There will be coordinators at each field, from parents on the team at that field.  Jenny will check with Stacy Moot and Alan Brown.
  • Rob E will order trophies for Slugfest.

Equipment

  • Brian McBride is in charge.
  • Inventory is done, Eberle will order.
  • Budget of $2000.

Umpires

  • Charlie McChesney wants to ump, may want to coordinate, but not schedule.
  • Joel Abrahamson is also interested in being involved.
  • Local umps- Andy Aunen, Steve Halfin and Toby Boyum- want to give them first crack.
  • Greg will set up a meeting with interested people to get this moving.

Treasurer’s Report

  • Review of unpaid players and scholarships.
  • Bills from previous year- Mark got a bill from Gleason Printing for $1700 for work done for Slugfest last year.  Mark talking to Little League about it.
  • Need to get Blois working on sponsorships or other fundraising opportunities.
  • Jenny will send out a note to all parents about final payments due by 2/15.  On 2/18 that will be extended to 2/28.  After 2/28 the fee goes up by $25.

Background checks

  • Mike Thyne to research potential vendors.
