Traveling Baseball Board Meeting

Coaches Update - Greg Meyer

  • Coaches by team:
    • 15AAA- Danny Bisonette
    • 15AA- Jason Vogel
    • 14AAA- Greg Meyer
    • 14A- Chris Hauer
    • 13AAA- Brian Kelly
    • 13AA- TBD
    • 12AAA- Tim Donahue
    • 11AA- Rob Eberle
    • 10AAA- Rob Robello
  • Outstanding payment for 2014 coaches- Danny Bissonette and Jason Vogel $500 each.  Board agreed to pay and Mark Young to send checks.
  • There will be a coaches meeting:  date & time TBD, likely early January.
  • Board agreed to name Safety Officer:  Mitchell Sledge.  He will be responsible for background checks, first aid kits, concussion training.
  • Background checks for coaches:  what service to use?  Have Mitchell research.  www.mcdowellagency.com- The service SLP soccer uses.

Tournaments

  • Need a tournament coordinator (someone to determine which tournaments our teams will play in). Greg will reach out to coaches, see what they are interested in.  

Recreational Baseball

  • 13, 14, 15 Rec baseball.  Rec manager needed. Dan Hower agreed to assist. Mark will reach out to find someone to lead the program.

Website  

  • Short term needs- changing PayPal to allow for second payment.
  • Any communications, send to Gino and Jenny.  Gino will post to website, Jenny will push out via e-mail if appropriate.  
  • Board Meeting Notes will be attached to website.

Field Scheduling

  • Rob Eberle will be field scheduler for Traveling.

Treasurer’s Update- Mark

  • Hockey Association to present $1500- earmarked for equipment or uniforms
  • Negative cash flow until we get Slugfest established.
  • Need to make $12,000- $15,000- difference between player fees coming in and projected expenses.
  • Change mailing address for checks from Rob E’s to Mark’s house.  This year we will try this, and see if we need to establish a P.O Box next year.   

Fundraising- Mike Thyne

  • Online fundraising- Mike Thyne to send info to Gino and Jenny- will be posted on website and sent to families.  Flip Give.  
  • Rob Eberle suggested having the players sell cookie dough for fundraising.  Give the players some ownership to support the program.  If each player sells 10 buckets, we raise $5000.

Sponsorships

  • Blois Olson agreed to take on Sponsorships.  He will reach out to potential sponsors to help support our program.

Slugfest- Todd Dvorak

  • Slugfest- State bids- MBT state bids info sent in.  MSF state bids sent in.  Gopher State registered teams.  Waiting to hear if we will get bids for SlugFest.  Todd will send follow-up e-mail introducing himself.  No one knows about state bids yet, and teams will wait to determine tournaments until they know about state bids.
  • Teams participating in Slugfest must pay by check.
  • Concessions for Slugfest- Todd to talk to Matt Moran
  • Form for Slugfest – Little League would like to participate in Slugfest.  Rob E will speak to Kim Eull at MBT- MBT rule is that Little League teams can participate if they do so at AAA level.  Board agrees that we need to do what we can to accommodate/allow Little League participation. 

Equipment and Uniforms -  Person to be named

  • Inventory of current equipment will be done.  
  • New Equipment- need to do inventory first
  • Players uniforms- decision to make- Rob Robello to design and bring to us for decision.  Everyone liked service from Educational Outfitters last year, and want to use them again.
  • Jackets- for players and coaches- Jenny to research

 

Winter Workouts- Greg Meyer

  • Winter gym time- $150 per team, limited High School options, Middle School- what the bigger field house to the left if possible.

 

Insurance policy

  • Rob Eberle to ask Ryan- need a policy for the season
